On the occasion of World GIS Day 2008, the Centre for Promotion of Science, Aligarh Muslim University is organizing a 5-Days Course on Digital Terrain Modeling & its Applications.  The course is open to students of classes IX to XII from schools in Aligarh City.

Who should attend?  Anyone interested in learning more about geography and the technology of Digital Terrain Modeling and GIS!  Come see terrains in motion.  Meet GIS professionals and our GIS students.  Ask questions, learn the fundamentals of terrain modeling, and even try some modeling yourself, as for instance, see the Mansarovar Lake from all directions and measure its area, or you can even measure the slopes of Kailas Parbat.  For more information visit the World GIS Day Web site at www.gisday.com

How to Participate:  The celebration of World GIS Day on 19th November, 2008 will be the culmination of a 5-day workshop from November 15-19, 2008 on “Digital Terrain Modeling & its Applications” organized by the Centre for Promotion of Science, Aligarh Muslim University.  The workshop is open for 25 students from schools in Aligarh City.  Contact your School Principal if you are interested to recommend your name for participation in the workshop.  The workshop will be held from 3:00 to 6:00 PM.
